Songs of Gothic Romance

Anna Pavlova

Winona Ryder

The word is gothic.  Mysterious, even frightening.  Dark, even in daylight.  A more profound, not entirely commonplace romance.

Viral Evolution of Dance: From Laipply to Fallon

As of this writing, these two Judson Laipply videos have grabbed 274,712,705 views.

I love the "Butt Wax On Wax Off," the "Football Spin" (Into the Love Scene from "Ghost"), and the "Manti Te'o on a Date."  Hilarious.  Jimmy Fallon has to be one of the most talented comedians.

Sigur Rós (3) Rembihnútur

It may be meditation.  It may be reflection.  It may be prayer.  It may be transcendence.  It may be hope.

Sigur Rós (2) Fjögur Píanó

Shia Labeouf is LeBuff (apologies, I couldn't help myself) in this erotic short film that paces between ecstatic and nightmarish.  This is a much more raw and creative rendering than P!nk's Try.  At certain moments, this film also makes me think of `Romeo and Juliet, and how the stars sidled into alignment when the two of them meet for the first time.  They both mirror and complement each other with their words and dance.

Sigur Rós (1) Valtari

The world in which they live is gritty industrial, like the futuristic dystopia that lies outside `The (tech-fabricated) Matrix.  This is courtship, flirtation, foreplay and lovemaking, except none of it is at all ordinary.  All of it is high-order art, from dance and music, to drama and cinematography.  It is as sensuous as it is erotic of an entanglement between them.  So much so that we are at once aroused (physical) and exalted (metaphysical).
